John & Susan

Every week we are contacted by people all over
the UK who have bought suites from one of the
many retailers selling leather furniture.

I have started to give information on the problems
people come across and why a bargain is not
a bargain in a short period of time.

So click onto the News letter page.

Welcome to our web site.

Strathvale is run by ourselves, John & Susan Oliphant and our members of staff Chris and David.

If you phone it will either be myself, John, or Susan who will initially speak to you. I will be the person you will meet on home visits for quotations and repairs etc.

Susan's speciality is the cutting and sewing of leather.

Chris design and all aspects of upholstery

David all aspects of upholstery

Me I get the rest.

Our workshop is on the outskirts of Forfar situated only minutes from the main streets of Forfar with car parking at front.

Each page will give you an insight of the range of work we do.

There are many pictures on each page and plenty of information.

If there is something we have missed out please contact us.

We have specialised in the renovation of Ekornes furniture for
many years and, as far as we know, are the only upholsterers in the UK who do this work on a large scale.

Within Tayside, Fife and Aberdeenshire
and Glasgow we
pick up and deliver using our own transport.

For the rest of the UK and Islands transport can
be arranged, click onto the News Letter page.

Small items such as cushion covers etc, to be
re-upholstered, are sent by Royal Mail.

Each chair or sofa is covered with transit bags
when taken out or into a house.

When chairs are sent by carrier they are
heavily bubble wrapped.

Interesting job of the week.

Every week we get e-mails from around the UK and America about problems with leather from a scratch, tear, colour problem etc
Unfortunately we cannot go in person due to the distance.
We can only attend customers in Tayside and Fife and Aberdeenshire.
Click on our News letter page for a Web address for technicians who may be able to help.

Below are views of our workshop

Many of our pictures are the before and after variety and
we admit now that photography is not our speciality.

Re-upholstery of your furniture is not always the cheapest option.
Yes, you can buy furniture for a few pounds.

But nowhere can you find any information on Quality.
Everything is geared on the cheapest price.

Thats where we can guide you on our range of fabrics,
which are chosen for wearability and cleanability and our Scottish leather.

We can also suggest how to give your chair or
suite an upgrade by using quality foams springs etc.

Your comments on our site would be welcome.

To find out more click on the above buttons.

Opening times are Monday to Friday 8 till 5.

Out with these hours by appointment.
.
Please feel free to come in and discuss any upholstery
work you require to be done or contact us to
arrange a home visit.
